The Proud Owner of a Mortgage

For those keeping score at home, I officially became a landowner today with the completion of sale. That’s right. Chris and Marnie are now the proud owners of a mortgage and possible lifelong debt. Although we don’t actually take possession until noon on Saturday, we are both pretty stoked.

We’re still a fair bit away from being ready to move, which is somewhat worrisome due to the fact that we move on Sunday, but I think we’ll be fine. We provided our current landlord notice for July 31st, so we actually have time in between to ensure we get everything moved out, cleaned up, and sorted. But still, y’know? And I also guess that this means that I’m officially a grown-up or something like that. Sure it took me a few years longer than most, but I think owning a home and getting engaged all in one year is a good sign for a 31 year old who would like to think he’s still 13.

What do you think?

    Congrats to you both!
If I was still in the area.. You’d be over for a bbq every other weekend and in the pool.

So when are you moving back this way then? Chris loves him some BBQ. Once we figure out if we actually have any discretionary cash after the mortgage payment comes out, we’re hoping to pick up a Weber Q 200 grill or something like that.

That’s your view? Holy crap! I hate you. That’s amazing!

CONGRATULATIONS! I can’t wait till I own a piece of property one day :)

Thanks Allie! I’m sorry you have to hate me with the view I have, but then again, I have to hate you back for all the views you’ve seen over the past while. So instead of hating each other, why don’t we just cancel the hatred out?

Congrats to you both! That’s a gorgeous view and very picturesque. I also can’t wait to own a piece of land someday!

The view was definitely a big selling point for us – it’s just funny how we had actually placed an offer on a couple of other condos that had piss poor views, but “lucked” out and didn’t get them. As for owning land, it’s a good feeling – just wish the mortgage that comes along with it carried the same feeling.
