My Love

One year ago to the day, I married my beautiful wife Marnie.  I have truly enjoyed each day with since, just as I have enjoyed each day prior and look to enjoy each day forward.  She is my everything.

I love you Marnie!

Zero to Hero – About Inspiration

Chris screaming at the top of his lungs.

We’re Halfway There!

Recognize this guy? He’s pretty darn inspired if you ask me. So it’s somewhat appropriate that yesterday’s assignment (I was never good at getting homework done on time) was to “write a post inspired by your About page or widget.”

When I recently gave my About page a once-over, my sole goal was to communicate my personality and outline how this blog would reflect that. I’m quirky. Easy going. Somewhat nuts. In fact, I have been known to describe myself as a 36-year-old going on 13. But how does one do that simply with text?

The answer is you can’t.

Sure I can pen some prose and make it sound like magic. Or simply give you a bunch of gibberish with a few 😀 or 😉 mixed in. Both would probably do the trick. Yet, without the images showing me in my element – real life – it’s hard to fully comprehend who I really am. A karaoke superstar.

So you can imagine how happy I was when Kiwibee gave me some feedback on what my About page said to her:

Hehehe I love it! Your voice and personality come across super strong and draw the reader in

Mission accomplished.

Zero to Hero – Where It Began

Yesterday’s Zero To Hero assignment (I know… I’m slacking) has us sharing our very first thought on what we wanted to post. If it were only that easy to remember.

I get that Blogging 101 is primarily meant for bloggers who just setup their very first blog and not guys like me who’ve been in and out of this game for years, but the challenge of trying to think why I started blogging does have me curious.

While I can’t specifically remember what my first post was or why I wanted to share it, I was inspired by two local bloggers – Rebecca Bollwitt and Raul Pacheco – and used their inspiration to carve my little piece of the world-wide web out.

I liked what they wrote and enjoyed the conversations that would take place in their comment streams. And as I was looking for a way to broaden my social universe and challenge myself to break out of my shell, I made the simple assumption that I could do what they were doing. It had to be easy, right? Obviously I learned that their labours of love took some serious blood, sweat and tears.

Some serious blood, sweat and tears. Which I’m not entirely sure I have.

But that’s okay. I’m still here… typing away. I may be the only person who ever reads what I post, and I’m surprisingly okay with that.

LCBD is about me.

But what about you? Do you blog? What inspired your first post? Or even to blog in the first place?

Merry Christmas

Just wanted to drop a quick note to my three regular readers to wish you a Merry Christmas. May your egg nog never run empty and shall your chocolate stash never run out! Consider this video I’ve shared my gift to you.
