The Escapists + The Walking Dead = Synergy

I’ve never played The Escapists.  Ever.  I’ve wanted to.  But never got around to it.

But that might change, now that I’ve read that The Escapists: The Walking Dead is coming to the PS4!

The Escapists The Walking Dead

Just a day after my birthday (which equates to February 16 if you didn’t know), you get to play as Rick and keep your flock… err.. followers… err.. friends safe.  Set in an 8-bit version of Georgia (are they still in the state of Georgia?), the top-down style of play is serious nod to the epic gaming of olde.

Have you given The Escapists a go?  Either on PS4 or the PC through Steam?  How has it been?

Icebreaker Sold Out?

3,683 Guardians Didn’t Purchase Icebreaker

It would seriously be the end of days if that were remotely true.  Apparently my sense of humour isn’t shared by too many people considering how my post on Reddit is getting “downmoted” to oblivion.

GTA V Goes PS4 – Do I?

Before my PS3 bought the big one, most of my time was split between Battlefield 4 and Grand Theft Auto V. Unfortunately for me, only Battlefield was ready to go big time on the PS4 and I ended up shelving GTA V (and eventually sold it).

This is where my conundrum begins.

Normally I’d not be one to pick up a next-gen copy of a title that I’ve previously played. Call me cheap. Yet in this particular case, I was thoroughly enjoying GTA at the time and had yet to finish the storyline. On top of this, Rockstar has continued to evolve the title with a multitude of multiplayer components.

And then there’s the whole next-gen graphics comparison that has blown my socks off.

So what do I do? I know you’ll likely tell me that it’s my money to spend, but I’m in a tough place. The cheap part of me has told me to shove off. It’s says this ship sailed when my PS3 went to console heaven.

Yet the part of me that appreciates a solid title is telling me otherwise.

Are you picking up the next-gen GTA V? And if not, what has you withholding your hard-earned cash? I’d like to know.

The One About Customer Expectations and Sony

When I put my money down on my PlayStation 4, I heard from everyone under the sun how I made the wrong choice because “everyone knows PlayStation controllers suck.” This really caught me off-guard because I never really had an issue with the PS3 controllers, let alone any problems with the console until the end.

Well, I guess yesterday was the day to discover these people may have been right. It seems the left analog control on my PlayStation DualShock controller (hereby known as the DS4) had determined the moving right was not in the cards for me and that I would rather head 90 degrees in the backward direction. And as clicking down said control was generally accepted as the means to engage the run mechanism, I was going to have to be satisfied with walking wherever my characters wanted to go.

Consider me frustrated. Continue reading
